Skyfall ( James Bond movie )
So, I've seen Skyfall today (like half an hour ago actually...) and I would like to ramble about it and the whole Craig!James Trilogy. So if you haven't seen or you don't like getting spoilered don't read this.
First of all, it was terrible movie. You've got to understand that I don't get excited over nearly anything and I usually think about movies in terms like "It was okay" , "It had some good points" , "Good story". It does not mean I wouldn't watch it again I'm just kind of .. I don't know .. looking from outside ( and from far away ).
I'm writing this so you can understand that what I'm about to write doesn't mean I think Skyfall was horrible film, I'm just pointing out what I think of as negative (from my point of view) in this trilogy.
Judi Dench's M is dead .. and it totally screwed Bond's timeline in my head. I originally assumed that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace was start of James Bond's career as 007 and events of Skyfall happens after non-Craig's movies that have Judi Dench as M e.g. Die Another Day, where when you think about it Bond was 'betrayed' by M similar to the way Silva was. You can say about this movie a LOT, but I really loved depiction of relationship between M and Bond in this one ( but that may have something to do with the fact I've first seen it when I was much younger). But still this has a minor problem and that is MoneyPenny - because I'm pretty sure she was in Die Another Day and that Bond knew who she was and she was M's assistant ... The theory that a lot of time passed between QoS and Skyfall is (I think) hinted at when people are calling Bond too old for the job.
So , I don't know what Bond's movies' makers want me to believe... that it is complete restart and that the fact that some actress played in both restart and former series is a thing we shouldn't bother ourselves with or some other version of timeline I'm thinking about (or not) , but won't write about them here.
(Actually, I don't think makers are thinking about these things at ALL.)
But hey, I'm used to overlooking and bending to make fandom!verse have some shred of continuality ( StarTrek I'm looking hard at you right now. )
That was just M's replacement in Skyfall , now on the topic of the Skyfall.
The plot was okay-ish. I consider it typical Craig!Bond movie style. Most of a film I don't know why Bond is doing something - not in a sense 'why is he using that car' , but more in the way ' he is chasing this guy because there was some allusion that it has something to do with the main objective (e.g. encrypted disk, some strange organization going after M (??, Quantum of Solace - I don't even remember)'. So bond is chasing and there is some action scenes when I fight the urge to rewind it in fear I will miss some information about what is going on (haha ,never happens). In the end I would be happier with shorter action scenes, because at the end of the films (QoS,Skyfall) I can't believe the movie was actually that damn long.
(Yup, and Silva - villain I still don't get .. he was just a guy looking hideous and kinda rapist-ly few moments and then he was running away , running towards and shooting and throwing grenades ... and basically : atmosphere&feelings = null)
And as the last thing : relationships.
- Moneypenny & Bond : the scene with razor is exactly what I remember their chemistry to be. If only I knew she was Moneypenny then ...
- Bond & M & Silva : M became ruthless , Bond is always trying to protect M and M favours Bond. And Silva is twisted and his relationship with M and Bond is only about his revenge to M. - Bond & Q : I' m gonna ship it. Just because I can , because they're fun when they're together and because they can get the job done .

Another thing about this trilogy: Bond sees female -> have a sex -> female dies -> M comments (non-compulsory) -> nobody gets moved. Basically creators are killing people I have no relationship with ( or small one) for not much reason and Bond cares like 3 seconds and you can see from those 3 seconds 2. I was thinking Skyfall would be better when at the start Bond had a 'I want to help you, brother-agent' moment with a dying agent , but no .. no changes at all - 8 minutes after chasing scene later Bond is dead and we hear about the agent's death ones .. I do know it was just agent and nobody really cared but if dead bodies wouldn't be dropping around James every darn second I would be happier ( I'm looking at you at 'Woman from brothel at age 12 or 13' and ' "She was only supposed to send you back" lady with oil in her lungs' and 'Someone wife ( ergo Bond's one night stand ) who died in hammock and etc )
Btw: Skyfall as the name of the film while it is the name of the childhood home of Bond and where some action scenes happens is lame. And it doesn't answer any question about James.
